Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and SeenAt ("we", "us") covering your use of the SeenAt app and website. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use SeenAt.
2. What SeenAt does
SeenAt lets people who trust each other share photos of each other's families. Matching runs on the sender's device against reference photos the receiver has chosen; matched photos and videos are delivered end-to-end encrypted. Sharing only happens between people who have both explicitly agreed.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account, and if you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission.
- You sign in with your phone number. Keep your phone number current — it's how your account is recovered on a new device.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it's been compromised.
4. Your content
- You own your photos and videos. SeenAt claims no ownership of anything you share or receive.
- You grant us the limited licence needed to run the service: storing, transmitting, and delivering your content (encrypted, where the feature applies) to the people you've agreed to share with. That licence ends when the content is deleted from the service.
- You are responsible for what you share. Only share photos you have the right to share, and only set up sharing for family members you're entitled to represent (your own children, or adults who've agreed).
5. Consent and control
- Before any matching starts, senders see and approve the reference photos of the people they'd be sharing with.
- Either side may decline, revoke, or leave a sharing arrangement at any time. Doing so stops matching and delivery, and removes the associated media from our servers.
- Photos already delivered to someone remain on their device, like any photo you've sent someone — deletion from our servers doesn't reach into other people's phones.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use SeenAt to break the law, to harass, stalk, or harm anyone, to share content you have no right to share, to attempt to identify or track people without their consent, or to probe, overload, or interfere with the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
7. Encryption and key loss
Delivered media is end-to-end encrypted. The keys live on your devices (synced through your iCloud Keychain), not on our servers. This means we cannot read your content — and it also means that if you lose all your devices and your iCloud Keychain, we cannot recover previously delivered media. Re-establishing sharing with your people will re-deliver matches going forward.
8. The service may change
SeenAt is under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can save your delivered photos.
9. Termination
You can stop using SeenAt and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or where required by law.
10. Disclaimers
SeenAt is provided "as is". Face matching is imperfect: it can miss photos and it can suggest wrong ones — that's why senders review matches. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every photo of your family will be found.
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently: nothing, as SeenAt is free). Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes will be resolved in Australian courts.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we'll notify you in the app before the changes take effect. Continuing to use SeenAt after that means you accept the updated terms.
